An Introduction to Breech Birth
Study Day

at the South Devon Steiner School, Dartington, Totnes, Devon, TQ9 6AB.
This study day is for Midwives and Doulas. Midwifery students and training doulas are welcome too!
The study day will be held on Saturday 24th September in Totnes, Devon. The fee will be approximately £50. Please bring your own lunch. There will be tea, coffee and other refreshments available.
Kylie is a raw food chef and makes amazing raw cakes. Please contact her if you wish to order a delicious raw and healthy cake for your lunch!

There will also be an evening screening of the wonderful Guerrilla Midwives documentary. As this is a fundraiser for the African Birth Collective, the cost for this is not included in the study day, and is by donation.

- Overview of normal breech birth in all fours position
- Slides of actual births
- Hands-on practice with a doll and pelvis to understand the mechanisms of breech labour (bring your own model pelvis and doll)
- Some breech variations, such as footling and knee presentations (including slides)
- Guidelines on when and how to help an otherwise “hands-off” birth
- Research and professional responsibilities
